Melbourne based artist Suzanne Marchant has developed a wide ranging skill set through various art forms since first recognizing her passion for art as a teenager.
Having studied fine art in her formative years and working as an art teacher early in her career she has since turned her skill set to the art of tattooing having established her own private studio in the northern suburbs. Suzanne has also explored creativity through pottery, epoxy resin, charcoal and murals.

Exhibitions The agony and the ecstasy- Monsalvat barn gallery 2021 This series was born out of lockdown accumulating a body of work when time was able to be used to create and practice her craft through painting imagery from her love of stage, theater and burlesque performers. This exhibition was one of Monsalvat’s most successful exhibitions, Suzanne sold 8 out of 12 pieces, which was an overwhelming success.

Suzanne travelled to France in October 2023 to attend her artists residency with Altelier Air fall 2023 collaborating with artists from around the world and worked on her new collection to be exhibited in 2024
However her first love has always been painting.
A lover of theater, burlesque and other performance artists is where Suzanne has drawn the inspiration for her most recent body of work, “The agony and the ecstasy” Her expressive use of colour and capturing these artists background structure come together to compliment her exceptional portraiture ability in capturing these artists.
This series was born out of Melbourne lockdown with fellow artist Rene accumulating a Body of work as a they encouraged each other to paint whilst not being able to work for nearly 2 years.
The result is what you see in her first exhibition at the barn gallery in Melbourne's Monsalvat, showing a very diverse work by both artists providing a feast for the eyes delving into the souls of the artists and their expressive styles. |
